Owens family member, the Rev. Johnny C. Owens, Jr. was the featured speaker at Acts of Faith Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. The service took place on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 9:30A, honoring the 11th Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor Michael Clayton Harris. The theme: "A Faithful Servant...Serving an Awesome God," was the backdrop for Rev. Owens' sermon topic: "Exalted for a Reason" based on scripture from Psalms 89:19-21. He focused on the premise that "God never leaves Himself without a credible witness."
Joining Pastor Owens in support of the occasion honoring Pastor Harris were several members of the Owens Family from the Atlanta, Athens and Cartersville, Georgia areas. See featured photo. In attendance at the service were: left to right -- Mrs. Sandra Owens, the wife of Rev. Johnny Owens, Jr. (Columbia, SC); Pierre Russell (Morrow, GA & son of Annie Owens Callum); family of the late James Owens, Sr. -- Tim [James' son], Louvenia [James' wife] and Precious Davis (Tim's wife) of Cartersville, GA.; Rev. Johnny Owens, Jr.; and, Son & daughter-in-law of the late Alfonso Owens, Emile & Debra Owens (Athens, GA).
Following the very spiritual worship service, the Owens family dined/fellowshipped in a nearby restaurant with Pastor Harris and the Acts of Faith Baptist Church congregation.
